Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps people develop greater flexibility in how they respond to difficult thoughts and emotions.
Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable internal experience, ACT helps us learn to make room for difficult feelings, step back from thoughts that can easily pull us in, and move toward what matters to us.
Therapy often involves mindfulness, acceptance, identifying personal values and taking meaningful action. ACT can be particularly helpful when anxiety, self-doubt, avoidance or difficult emotions have begun to limit someone's life.
