Humanistic & Client-Centred Therapy
At the core of our work at Inner Garden Psychology is a humanistic approach to therapy.
We believe that the therapeutic relationship is foundational to meaningful psychological work. Regardless of the specific treatment approach being used, therapy begins with creating a relationship in which you feel genuinely understood, respected and able to be yourself.
Humanistic and person-centred therapies are grounded in the belief that people have an inherent capacity for growth and greater self-understanding. Central to this work are what psychologist Carl Rogers described as the core conditions of therapy: empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard.
These principles shape how we work across therapeutic approaches. Whether your therapist is drawing from CBT, EFT, ACT, psychodynamic or trauma-focused therapy, we believe that techniques are most meaningful when they occur within a strong, collaborative and authentic therapeutic relationship.
Therapy is not simply something a therapist does to you. It is a process we create together.
